Star lands in Moranbah, QLD
Star Aviation Services is thrilled to announce on 1 May 2017, we commenced a full transition into the ground handling services on behalf of QantasLink at Moranbah Airport. Moranbah is a coal mining town located in Queensland between Mackay and Clermont, with a population of over 8,965 people. Owned by BMA Coal Operations, Moranbah Airport services approximately 40 RPT and NON RPT flights per week.
Employing 10 new locals, Star has put in significant investments into an extensive training program, infrastructure, assets and other operational costs to ensure a mutually beneficial partnership between Star, Qantaslink, BMA and the Moranbah community. As a result of winning the ground handling contract at Moranbah Airport, Star now has a footprint in four Australian states, QLD, NSW, ACT and NT. Managing Director of Star Aviation Services, Peter Georgiou said;

Moranbah is an extremely important port to QantasLink due to strategic location, partnership with BMA and the community of Moranbah and surrounding areas. Star is now looking to be involved with the local community through the sponsorship of schooling programs, social activities and sporting events.
